Paul Stanton began making scenic black-and-white photos of his native Montana as a teenager, sometimes coloring them with oils. In 1987 he founded Duckboy Cards after he discovered that his humorous postcards–created as a gag for friends–were much in demand. Soon his wife Laurie joined him in the business full-time. Duckboy Cards Inc. serves up a buffet of offbeat postcards, calendars, books, magnets, greeting cards, and gifts. Paul’s humor celebrates human quirks and foibles, which range from timeless to contemporary.
In over 3,000 retail stores throughout the U.S., the Duckboy® collection has proven to be a fun, affordable, quick-selling product line.
Laurie and Paul still own and manage the business, which is located in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. They enjoy walking, cross-country skiing, and traveling with their aluminum-clad teardrop trailer.
